Green Tea

As you know I’ve used Green tea to help me achieve my weight loss and for everyone that don’t know about green tea and the other benefits it has then keep reading.

Originated in China the Chinese have known about the medicinal benefits of green tea since ancient times, using it to treat everything from:

•Headaches

•Depression

•Anxiety

•Lower risk of developing heart disease

•Less risk of certain types of cancer

Green tea has been helping many people including myself to boost metabolism and aid in our bid to lose weight. A green tea extract containing polyphenols and caffeine has been shown to induce thermogenesis and stimulate fat oxidation, boosting the metabolic rate 4% without increasing the heart rate. Certain antioxidants found in green tea seem to have a “small positive effect” on weight loss and weight maintenance and studies show that if the average person were to drink five cups of green tea a day (which I do) they would burn an extra 70 to 80 extra calories through an effect known as thermogenesis – the process of heat production in organisms.

Obviously drinking green tea alone is not going to be satisfactory for significant weight loss. However, green tea is still a quite useful source for a weight loss aid.

SIDE EFFORTS

While green tea is safe for most adults, drinking more than five cups a day may lead to caffeine-related side effects such as

•Headaches

•Nervousness

•Sleep problems

•Irregular heartbeat

•Anxiety

•High blood pressure

•Diabetes

Thankfully I have not had any of these problems as I never have more then 5 cups a day, I make sure I have water in between or I try and swap green tea for peppermint tea which also works in the same way green tea does providing the same result.

MY FAVOURITE TYPES OF GREEN TEA

There’s are absolutely loads you could choose from, ones that you would hate and others you could love, not everyone is a fan on green tea having tried to convince my friends to try it and they detest it but what they don’t understand is that there are good teas out there. I myself at first hated green tea so started off with:

•GREEN TEA WITH LEMON, it has a nice sweet taste you can stomach if you cannot drink pure green tea

•GREEN TEA WITH HONEY

•GREEN TEA WITH VANILLA

You really don’t need to try a green tea on its own even though it is more pure and now I drink this because I am so used to the taste but I still drink my green tea with lemon, honey and vanillia which is perfect if you are trying it out for the first time and has a very nice sweet taste. It doesn’t matter what brand you use as they all work wonders. And remember to try out peppermint tea to. 😀
